Oftentimes downsizers considering a move into Helena Valley Lifestyle Village are weighing up their choices: do they buy a small apartment in the suburbs or choose a home in our secure community?

“From the actual home itself to the facilities, services, safety and cost, there are many differences between downsizing into a resort-style community or into an apartment, single-storey residence or townhouse in a typical street,” explains Helena Valley Lifestyle Village Project Director John Green.

“Many downsizers are attracted to the Village because having a peaceful and safe home is of primary importance.

“Unlike apartments and townhouses, our homes do not have any shared walls and this provides the quieter life our Lifestylers are after, however they still have a community on their doorstep to connect with if they desire.”

There are myriad other upsides at the Village. “Our homeowners love having their own private, paved ground-level alfresco area, their own in-house laundry and paved laundry drying space, and feel more secure in our modern, gated development,” shares John.

“Then there’s the benefit of their vehicle being parked in a covered carport right outside their door, rather than having to go to a basement, which is harder when bringing in shopping, for example.

“And Lifestylers with green thumbs are happy to have a small landscaped waterwise and reticulated garden.”

One of the most crucial deciding factors, says John, is the size of the homes.

“We constantly hear the homes in the Village are much bigger than people anticipate and even our one-bedroom residences come with a full-sized kitchen with dishwasher recess and pantry,” he says.

“Our homes are also designed to reduce heating and cooling costs, maintenance costs are low and there are no strata fees.

“Then, there are the facilities – including our spectacular $7 million Clubhouse with an indoor pool, spa and sauna, gym, games rooms, bowling green, an arts and crafts hub, a library and lounge areas – which are far superior to those at affordable apartment or townhouse complexes and not available at all when buying stand-alone homes.”

With a chronic shortage of one-bedroom single storey homes available for Perth under $450,000 and a reduced selection of apartments or townhouses for sale under $400,000, the Village also offers affordability.

“Our homes start from $369,950 – and we have six designs to choose from under $450,000, making them a standout option for downsizing and keeping extra funds to play with,” explains John.
