As we are now getting to the pointy end of the season, here is an update on how the Dart Vaders are progressing in 2021.
On Saturday June 5th we had an away game to the Vibe Sharks losing 6-5 on the day. Despite the loss, without a doubt Barrie’s high peg of 80 was the highlight on the day.
The following fortnight, we played a home game against the Panthers of Pineview and had a good win 8-3. Congratulations to Jean Milne who’s first ever 3 from 3 peg outs helped us to a win, well done.
After a loss the previous week, Saturday 17th July delivered our most exciting game of the season when we again played away to Vulcans. Being 5-4 down with 2 games to play, Judith Deakin won her game to bring it 5-5, then Lesley Gear stepped up very nervously with a win on the line and won the game and the match for us. Well done, Lesley. Also, Steve hit a high score of 171 on the day.
At the end of July, Dart Vaders held a gala day at the village where 20 players turned up for a game. Barrie, Jean, Judith Jeans, and Helen Augustson were nominated captains and the highest scores were from Eric Pascoe 125 and Judith with a 124. Well done to all it was a great day.
We would like to welcome our newest player, Glenroy Sivyer and remind everyone that we are still looking for player’s next season. Our practice sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3.00 and 4.30 upstairs in the Champions Den.
Until next time, thank you.
