Your days should be filled with things you want to do, not things you have to do.
At Helena Valley Lifestyle Village, that shift happens naturally. With activities, groups, and events built into Village life, you can fill your days with as much or as little as you like.
“Whether you’re someone who wants a packed social calendar or just a few activities that interest you, the Village makes it easy to find your rhythm,” says Project Director John Green.
Stay Active, Stay Strong
Staying fit doesn’t have to mean gym memberships or early morning classes across town. The Village offers exercise options right on your doorstep.
There’s men’s swimming, ladies watercise, yoga, chair pilates, line dancing, and Movement to Music sessions. Water aerobics classes are open to everyone. A fully equipped gymnasium is available when you want it, and lawn bowls and bush croquet offer a more relaxed pace.
For those who prefer the outdoors, the Village borders incredible bushland with walking and jogging trails.
Less intense but just as enjoyable? Table tennis, snooker, pool, darts, cards, games, and meditation sessions.
Keep Your Hobbies Alive
The communal garden is perfect for anyone who misses getting their hands dirty, growing vegetables, or simply spending time outdoors among the plants.
The hobby workshop gives tinkerers and DIY enthusiasts a space to fix, build, or work on projects without cluttering up the house.
Get Creative
If you’re into the arts, there’s plenty happening.
The Valley Vocals choir meets regularly. Art and craft sessions run throughout the week. There’s a patchwork and quilting group for those who enjoy needlework.
Throughout the year, the Village hosts open mic nights, concerts, and DJ events.
“The talent here is genuinely impressive,” says John. “You never know what skills people have until they get the chance to share them.”
Connect with Your Neighbours
The social calendar is as busy as you want it to be.
The Village celebrates New Year’s Eve, ANZAC Day, and Remembrance Day. There are Melbourne Cup lunches, Christmas dinners, monthly breakfasts, themed nights, and market days.
Friday night socials are a regular fixture, along with fundraisers throughout the year.
Want to get more involved? Join the Social Club Committee and help shape what’s happening around the Village.
Your Time, Your Way
The beauty of Village life is choice. Jump into everything or pick just the activities that appeal to you. There’s no pressure, just opportunities to do more of what you enjoy.
